Sundae Sunday in the Diner
We regret that we are unable to accommodate wheelchairs or mobility devices on the “Sundae Sunday in the Diner” special. Please see additional information below.
Join us on the first and third Sunday of each month for a special package that includes a train ride in our Royal Palm dining car and a scrumptious ice cream sundae.
Our first “Sundae Sunday in the Diner” treat will be a strawberry and vanilla sundae to celebrate strawberry season in Central Florida. It has one scoop of strawberry ice cream topped with chocolate syrup and a second scoop of vanilla ice cream topped with strawberry syrup. This delicious treat is topped off with whipped cream and a cherry on top! Future sundae offerings will change seasonally.
Soft drinks (12-ounce cans) and bottled water are available for purchase onboard the train.
The “Sundae Sunday in the Diner” ride options include departures from Tavares Union Station at either 12:30 or at 2:55 for a 1 hour and 15 minute ride in the dining car. On the 12:30 departure you have the option of moving into standard coach seating upon return to Tavares for an additional roundtrip ride to Eustis and back to Tavares. This option is not available for the 2:55 departure, however, due to the afternoon train schedule.
Please make your ticket selection and reserve your seat in the diner for this delicious treat by 5:00 PM on the Saturday before your selected date to ride the “Sundae Sunday in the Diner”.
Tickets for the “Sundae Sunday in the Diner” are $24.97 for Adults, and $19.97 for Children ages 2 to 13. Pricing does not include sales tax or ticketing service fees. Children under the age of 2 ride free in the lap of an adult, but no sundae is included.
No refunds. All “Sundae Sunday in the Diner” ticket purchases are final. Departure times, schedules and equipment are subject to change. Please check the operating schedule online or by calling our customer service representatives prior to your arrival at Tavares Union Station.
Wheelchairs and mobility devices will not be permitted due to the historic nature of our dining car, which is not equipped to accommodate these devices. Unannounced ADA passengers will regretfully be turned away.
